“Making of” the Nicola Formichetti - CCP Collaboration.
Nicola Formichetti, internationally celebrated fashion director and editor (Mugler, Vogue Hommes Japan, UNIQLO, Lady Gaga collaborator) unveiled his BOFFO Building Fashion pop-up store beginning Sept. 9 2011 and open to the public for two weeks during NY Fashion week. It showcases a collaboration with CCP Games to render one of his designs in a fully interactive, real-time virtual catwalk experience at the event space. A true first of the kind in either the gaming or fashion industries.
Formichetti’s inspiring design has been fully realized into the virtual setting of EVE Online on a virtual avatar copy of signature model Rick Genest (AKA Rico the Zombie Boy) by the artists, programmers and animators at CCP Games using their own industry-leading technology.
This video is the “making of” that effort and includes interviews with Nicola Formichetti, Zombie Boy and members of the CCP team

Nicola's Virtual Catwalk
This afternoon I had the surreal pleasure of previewing Nicola Formichetti’s pop-up store in collaboration with BOFFO, called Nicola’s, at 51 Walker Street. Apart from the stunning archive Versace, platform shoes with dildo heels, Gaga ephemera, and the overwhelming mirror-reflexive interior, it is HD-clear that one of the most talked about elements of the shop will undoubtedly become the interactive, CG-video collaboration that the Creative Director and Fashion Editor has done with CCP Games. Featuring Nicola’s unmistakable muse Rick Genest—aka Rico the Zombie—the video exists on a man-sized, vertically rectangular screen and features a virtual rendering of Genest (also one of Nicola’s shopkeepers), skulking down an industrial runway on a colonial space shuttle which orbits some dark, alien planet. So visually arresting that it actually fried my brain for about three and a half minutes, the experience comes complete with a system override thanks to a handheld tablet controller that enables the viewer to manipulate the camera angles and play with the model’s movements. Preview the video below. Also be sure to stop by to see the magnificent collaboration come to life, and to purchase any number of out-of-print, limited edition Visionaire titles, on sale for the duration of Nicola’s pop-up residency.Visionaire 18 Fashion Special, Visionaire 26 Fantasy, Visionaire 32 Where, Visionaire 34 Paris, Visionaire 37 Vreeland Memos, Visionaire 45 More Toys, and Visionaire 58 Spirit–Couture will all be available and on display.

In this exclusive MilkMade video directed by Joshua Zeman, Nicola Formichetti, the Mugler designer and Lady Gaga’s stylist, gives us a peek inside his new concept store, created in collaboration with Gage/Clemenceau Architects .
